Drysllwyn castle built in the 2nd quarter of the 13th century. originally of welsh origin it was captured by the English during the welsh rebellions in the later part of the 13th century. The present condition of the castle is probably due to a English siege when the castle was retaken and held for the Welshman Rhys ab maredudd in 1287.
