Description Ballindalloch Castle is located on Speyside. According to the Ballindalloch Castle web site it is known as the "Pearl of the North". It is built in an impressive natural setting with the Rivers Spey and Avon flowing through the grounds. Ballindalloch is the family home of the Macpherson-Grants who have lived there since 1546.The castle is open for visitors from March to September (check their web site for details).
History The Castle was originally built as a Z plan castle. It has been altered over the centuries from a fortified tower house to an elegant country house.

Access Ballindalloch Castle is 29 miles north east of Aviemore and 14 miles north east of Grantown on Spey on the A95.
